Nina has been practicing law for over 30 years in the areas of estate planning, real estate and business law She is currently licensed in California, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado and very soon, Alaska. Her Martindale-Hubbell attorney rating is the highest achievable: 5 stars in peer reviews. Nina is justifiably proud of her unimpeachable background as an attorney of the highest personal and professional standards.
Nina’s real passion, though, is estate planning, which arises out of her natural proclivity to plan for every contingency and out of her life experiences Nina has seen, and has experienced first-hand, the effects of good, bad and non-existent estate planning, and absolutely wants to help others to plan properly for the inevitable.
As a widow (since remarried), Nina completely understands the devastation and confusion the surviving spouse feels, and she knows that proper planning lifts a tremendous burden from the survivor. It’s an immeasurably valuable gift to one’s family, in the time that they need it most. Nina personally experienced the values of having in place:
Nina’s father is now in an assisted living facility due to dementia. When the writing was on the wall, Nina is grateful to have been able to help her mother before her father’s incapacity by drafting thorough medical and financial powers of attorney, as well as reviewing and amending her parents’ rather dated and simple estate plan (that her mother had naively obtained free from a trust mill associated with a name brand financial management company), and Nina also took steps before it was too late to ensure that important assets were transferred to her parents’ trust (something the drafting attorney failed to do).
Helping others avoid the pitfalls of failing to plan, failing to fund their existing plan or failing to update their plan as their life and the law changes is Nina’s passion; it’s why she does what she does.
What is more valuable than ensuring your loved ones will be well-provided for according to your wishes after your passing, and that they will not undergo any additional unnecessary stress and expense at your passing?
Nina graduated from Arizona State University Law School with her B.S. in 1986. She is a member of WealthCounsel and Lawyers with Purpose.
Nina has three dogs adopted from rescue shelters and has been adopted by a cat who was inhabiting a property where she lived for a time. She also volunteers to transport adopted pets from shelters to their new forever homes, often as the pilot of her airplane, another passion.
